Matthias Kronsteiner

Austrian born bassoon-player Matthias Kronsteiner is an upcoming force in bringing the bassoon on stages of all genres.
During his studies with various great musicians he could develop a very personal view on playing the bassoon.
Together with mentors like Milan Turkovic he could develop his very personal way of performing music.

During 2008 to 2010 he studied at Manhattan School of Music
in New York City with Martin Kuuskmann.

Their goal is to establish the bassoon as a top caliber solo instrument in venues all over the world.
He is recipient of the
‚Helen-Fahnestock-Hubbard-Family scholarship‘ as well as the
‚Emanuel und Sofie Fohn Stipendien Stiftung‘.

As winner of the 09/10 contemporary concerto competition
Matthias performed the
NY-premiere of ‚Essentially Tragic‘ for Solo-Electric-Bassoon,
ChamberOrchestra and Samplestra by Gene Pritsker
in February 2010 at Manhattan School of Music.

Matthias Kronsteiner plays a #4500# series Heckel bassoon.
